This page will contain tips on how to keep your PAX-it running smoothly.

KEEP YOUR HARD DRIVE AND OTHER STORAGE MEDIA CLEAN.

Run scandisk frequently and defragment your media often. Often problems can occur if your computer is not shut down properly, running these utilities often can prevent disaster. Also, make sure that you have enough disk space. Do not let your hard drive get down below 30 Megs of hard disk space. Windows needs a lot of disk space to operate. You should also clean your TEMP directory often and remove any .TMP files.

YOU CAN ADD OR CHANGE THE SOUNDS IN PAX-it.

You can edit your PAXIT.INI file so the system will play different sounds when you perform some operations. Use the following headings and insert the name of each wave file:

[Sounds]

cabopen = {wavefile}, folderopen = {wavefile}, Save = {wavefile}, Freeze = {wavefile},
GoLive = {wavefile}; [StartUp] - Sound_20 = {wavefile}

It is OKay to enjoy yourself a little at work. Let Mr. Image know if you would like more waves!

BACK UP YOUR DATABASE OFTEN

You will want to regularly backup your database. Select DATABASE then UTILITIES then BACKUP DATABASE. Using your Explorer or File Manager you may want to copy the resulting .MDB file to a floppy disk or another storage media. This WILL NOT backup your images, but it will back up your database.
